Baby Steps with the Perry Family

Well, ok, not quite, but he sure thinks so! He's getting so much bigger and learning to do so much
now! This picture was taken on the 19th, the day Tanner sat up well all by himself for the first time! He sat there for several minutes just looking around before he finally moved and lost his balance and fell down! Oops, still adorable though!

Another thing Tanner has discovered these past few weeks is the swing at the park. He just sits there and swings and loves every minute of it... usually at least 30 minutes of it, actually. It has become almost a daily ritual to make our trek with the stroller the few blocks down to the park. We try to make it before it gets too hot so we're not walking back in the heat. But, the hot sun on the walk home does tend to knock the little guy out!

Aww, what a doll! Even sound asleep he doesn't mind the shades.... but they do tend to slide down a bit!

Another funny story of the little dude -- I walked into his room to see how he was doing at about 10 at night trying to decide if he was going to wake up and take another bottle or just stay asleep for the night and this is site I saw! He was sound asleep with his bare booty just sticking up in the air! Look at that birthmark... Isn't he cute? The not-so-cute part of all of this, however, was that because he had pulled that diaper off, the bed under him was SOAKED and we had to get him up, clean him up, clean the bed, change the sheet and then try to put him back to bed so we could go to bed. But it was still cute, and I couldn't resist the photo opportunity to preserve the memory...

So, not only does he now sit up, but he thinks he can get up and walk, too! He hasn't figured out a lot of it yet, but he has the leg motion down now. We got a bunch of toys for him the other day (yay Craig's list!) and one thing we got was one of those ride-on/walkers that pulls up to hold onto and push to walk. He doesn't have the balance thing down, so he needs help (which means I couldn't take a pic of it) but it is cute. We walk up and down the hallway several times a day now. But, with his new walker, we also got this cute toy... which he just loves. It makes noise, talks, rolls around and plays music. It's so cute. And since he can sit now, it's so much more fun.

Alright, it's time to play and get ready for work again.. he doesn't like mommy to go to work, so we gotta get some good play time in before. We'll leave you with a few more fun pictures of the cutest little baby on earth!

The little guy just gets cuter & cuter!!!

I know it's been nearly forever since I last posted, so I'll post extra pics this time (although I hardly get a minute to take pics except when he's sleeping, hence all the crib pics. Maybe now that he's getting a little older and more independent we can do more other fun stuff). Tanner is almost 4.5 months old now. At his 4 month check-up on June 2 he weighed in at 14 lbs even and was 26.6 inches long! This kid is in the 95th percentile now for length, and the 35th for weight! I cannot believe how quickly he is growing! And he is just so adorable, too. We started feeding him some baby food over the last few weeks. He seems to like applesauce and peaches and he really likes squash and sweet potatoes. But we tried pears tonight and he just did not want anything to do with that! He gave me the dirtiest look and spit it all right back out at me! He's so cute. He makes such a mess when he eats! We usually just strip him down to the diaper and then if he makes too much of a mess it's stright to the bathtub! (That's at least half the time!) He's learning to sit up by himself now. He likes to sit by himself, and can last a few seconds before he falls over, usually. It's really cute. He grabs his ankles and teeters back and forth until he falls. He still doesn't like to go to bed. He usually gets really fussy as he gets tired, but then he SCREAMS until he falls to sleep. And he does NOT like to cuddle when he wants to sleep. He's so funny! We found a new trick to getting him to sleep in the car. If we're in the car and he starts his screaming fits, we turn the radio on and turn it up, and he shuts right up! He LOVES to listen to the radio... but only good music. He doesn't do well with lullabyes or country (as my mom found out!) What a cutie.. well, I could go on forever, but I should get to bed since it's midnight (the only time I have anymore to get much done!) Although, he does an excellent job of sleeping all night most of the time. What a good kid. Ok, time to post the bedtime baby pics... until next time... ENJOY!

The little squirt keeps on growing....

This kid is growing like a weed! It's hard to believe he was so itty bitty just 3 months ago-And now he's such a little man. He started teething this week-hence the delay in this post that I've been planning all week. He was SO fussy Mon-Wed, but yesterday he was suprisingly good when I had a lot of errands to run. Which was super nice. And today, he went back to sleep after eating this morning and is still asleep for more than 30 minutes so I can actually get something done, YAY! He is adorable, though. And his little grins and giggles just make me laugh. I can get so frustrated at him when he won't sleep and I've worked all night, and then he looks at me, with this big grin and starts talking and giggling, and I just have to laugh and hug and kiss him because he's so cute. What a doll...

We went to the doctor yesterday and the little dude weighed in at 13lbs 4.8oz! He is growing too fast!! And he doesn't even fit into 3-6 month sleepers because his legs are too long... He has to wear 6-9 sleepers, but it's a good thing it's summer time and he can start wearing more shorts -- since he can wear what fits him around the waist and if the shorts are a little short it's ok! he is just getting so much cuter and more fun every day. In response to the overwhelming requests for updates on Tanner's life and more, more, MORE pictures, we have decided to create a blog for this purpose. To start off with, I've included his adorable announcement for anyone who may not have seen it.
